How Big Are They? It is bigger than a duck.

What Colour Are They? It is black and white. Its eye is red. Some is just black- the head. Beak is black. In the winter, its feathers fall out and he turn grey.

What Do They Eat? It eats seaweed and fish and frogs.

Where/How Do They Live? They live in the water. Sometimes, they go on land.

How Do They Move? It is swimming in the water. It has two feet to help it swim. Or, it can go on the land. The loon fall over when it walks. It flies in the winter so it doesn’t get stuck in ice.

Can They Do/Have Anything Special? It can swim underwater like me. Its babies are in a nest from an egg. The baby looks like a duck. It stays close to mommy. Boys and girls look the same. It has a special trick. It can make part of its body disappear under the water when danger comes.
