The Hedgehog

How Big Are They? They are small. They weigh two pounds. That is like butter, but I just have one pound of butter.  

What Colour Are They? They are white, black, grey, brown, and stuff. The eyes are blue.

What Do They Eat? Worms and insects. Snails, mice, frogs, and lizards. I only fed mine worms. Maybe that is why it got sick. Sometimes, they eat poisonous snakes.

How Do They Sleep? It sleeps in the winter. It hibernates. When it sleeps, it curls in a little ball. When it is your pet, it sleeps when it is bedtime.

Where/How Do They Live? Some live in the desert. Some can be your pet. If it is your pet, it should live in a cage.

How Do They Move? They move with their four legs.

Can They Do/Have Anything Special? You have to let them go outside every day. If it gets scared, it rolls in a little prickly ball. Hedgehogs spit on themselves. Good thing my hedgehog didn’t do that or my mom would be mad. Hedgehogs have lots of spines.

How Big Are They?   He is about the same as a turtle.

What Colour Are They? They are black and white and brown. His eye is blue and black.

What Do They Eat? They eat snow. They don’t vibrate when they eat snow. They eat sticks or carrots. Worms! Ugh! They eat apples.

How Do They Sleep? They vibrate in the winter.

Where/How Do They Live? They live in holes. They live where it is warm and cold. Sometimes, they vibrate when it is too hot, and sometimes they vibrate when it is cold.

How Do They Move? He is moving weird. He walks with his four feet. I don’t know if he can run.

Can They Do/Have Anything Special?   He is curling up in a ball because there is danger. Their spikes are for protecting themselves. The babies look kind of weird. It is hard to see their eyes. The babies are pink and their spikes are white.  They are so cute.

What Colour Are They? He is brown or he can be white. His eye is black and blue.

What Do They Eat? He can eat something in the flower. He’s eating apples and leaves. Also, he eats bugs and worms.

How Do They Sleep? They sleep in the winter. That is called hibernation. Sometimes, they sleep when it gets too hot in the summer too. That is different. They wake up faster in the summer.

Where/How Do They Live? Hedgehogs live in the desert, some live in people’s houses. They live outside to find food. They like warm and cold.

How Do They Move? He walks slowly or faster. He has 4 legs.

Can They Do/Have Anything Special? When there is danger, hedgehog makes a ball with spikes. The baby hedgehog is white and pink. Hedgehog have lots of spikes. Hedgehogs don’t like dogs.
