Franklin the Turtle Toilet Paper Roll Craft |

| This is a fun art activity, that is easy to do and fosters caring for the environment through recycling. | ||||||||
|
||||||||
| Materials: | ||||||||
| 1. | toilet
paper rolls (one for each student)
|
|||||||
| 2. | Turtle template which can be downloaded and printed (one for each student). The download can be done in black and white or in colored format. http://www.dltk-kids.com/t/books/bfranklin.htm | |||||||
| 3. | felt pens, crayons or pencil crayons | |||||||
| 4. | Glue stick | |||||||
|
What to do: | |||||||
| 1. | Download template and make one for each child. | |||||||
| 2. | Have the children color and cut out the shapes. | |||||||
| 3. | Glue the rectangular shape to wrap the toilet paper roll. | |||||||
| 4. | Glue on remaining parts. | |||||||
| Let
the children explore!
My students came up with some very interesting versions of Franklin. Some even put his bowtie upside-down and around the head, instantly turning Franklin into a female character. |
