Myrtle the Turtle

with Mrs. Vaage's kindergarten

Chitra Rajapaske brought in Myrtle, her pet turtle, at the beginning of our Franklin Study. Below are some photos that show her visit to our classroom. You'll notice that we are all wearing latex gloves to protect from possible salmonella bacteria that is sometimes associated with turtles. Myrtle was a little shy with us at first, but then she became her friendly self after she got used to our classroom. We would like to have kept her, but Chitra said she would get lonely for her little friend.
