Our
Franklin Telus Project began as our class read one Franklin book
per day. S
~We discussed the moral
or learning lessons of every story that we read:
|
From the
story, 'Franklin Plays The Game,' we learned that we must
always share with one another.
~"If
you pass the ball then everybody will have a
turn." -
Carlee
~"If
they pass the ball then nobody will feel sad."
-McKenzie
~"
When you share, then nobody will get mad and feel sad and
then lots of people can score in the
goalie."
- Thomas
~"Franklin
passed the ball and then he used his head on the
ball." - Chad
~" I
share the ball with my team and we score
together." - Teagan |
~We discovered eachother's favourite parts in the
stories and drew pictures:
|
when
Franklin dressed up like Franklinstein for
Halloween. I think he looked funny and I liked the
part with the pumpkins too!
~Jennifer |
|
when
Franklin made a Valentine...and when he was done, he
holded out his arms like that, (points to drawing).
~Michael.A |
~We related our experiences to Franklin's
experiences through journal writing.
|
I
drawed this picture because I have a soccer team like
Franklin...except it's not made of animals, and I scored a
goal too like in the story.
~ Teagan |
|
~ I have
a...I want a pet and Franklin did too...but Franklin...it
wasn't a real one. I want a dog and Franklin didn't
want a dog. He have goldfish.

~We talked about
similarities and differences between the Franklin books, the
Franklin tapes, and the Franklin videos, through the use of our
'Franklin Backpacks.' Each backpack consisted of Franklin
stories, the correlating videos, a Franklin teddy, a drawing
scrapbook, and a Franklin Journal.
Below
you will find the letter that each of the parents received
regarding the 'Franklin Backpacks:'
Dear
Parents
We
have been reading about Franklin and his friends. As a
part of our Telus Project, our class is comparing the Franklin
stories to the Franklin movies. We have been talking about
things that are the same, and things that are different.
Please
watch the Franklin video with your child, then, read the books
or listen to the tapes.
In
the "Journal," please help your child write down some
things that were the same, and some things that were different.
In
the "Pictures Scribbler," please have your child draw
a picture of what was the same, and what was different.
Encourage your child to use bright colours so that the scanner
picks up their drawing and their printing for our website.
The children may put their first names on their work, but not
their last.
Please
ensure that your child returns the Franklin backpack the NEXT
day, with all of the contents ready for the next child. We
would like all of the children to have an opportunity.
Thank
you
Miss
Stephanie Giuffre
The
children were extremely successful and creative with their
findings! Below are samples of our Franklin Backpack
results! ...
